Open Science
To bring societies together

As people divide over ideology and access to energy resources, open science aims at bringing them closer together by sharing knowledge and seeking alternatives to the unrestrained exploitation of natural resources.

While ideologies seek to impose the same social model on all, open science - the unfettered dissemination of research results, methods and products - seeks to take advantage of the uniqueness of peoples and the plurality of the thought systems existing around the world. Furthermore, the advances in digital technologies offer great opportunities to Open Science, including overcoming language barriers that hinder the international flow of knowledge.

Open science brings many other benefits, such as improved reproducibility of scientific results, by facilitating open access to publications, data, source codes and research methodologies. It allows the re-use of research materials and encourages the publication of studies with inconclusive or negative results. This is particularly useful in medical research, especially in the fight against cancer. It also makes it possible to better evaluate results, to build a more transparent ecosystem, and improve public confidence.

Therefore, open science should be the future of science at the global level. We hope to see national and international rules evolve in order to make open access publishing mandatory, and also promote multilingualism. We also want governments to make more use of open science, by sharing data and software for research. We want to promote the creation of catalogs, standardized metadata schemes, and an international charter for their use, to allow better interoperability of open data with artificial intelligence.
